Kosair Shriners roadblock now in progress

Mark Twain Shriners Darrell Absher, front, and Kevin Reynolds are manning the roadblock for Kosair Charities on Jamestown Street at Russell Road this afternoon, 3pm-6pmCT, Friday, April 7, 2017. There's still time to write out a check and drop a donation in the buckets. Robert Flowers, who is also at the intersection, along with Shriners Jimmy Woody, Todd Davenport, and Joe Flowers said that response is really good, whether its a $20 bill or more or the 'widow's mite.' He said one woman dropped in a dime, and said, 'That's all I've got.' Flowers said, "That mean's as much as the biggest check we get. It's the spirit that counts."
