Randy Burns presented the case for the City of Columbia purchase of the Adair County Little League Park, 167 Doc Walker Road, Columbia, KY. The City will pay $1 for title to the property, and will entail some as yet to be determined ongoing costs in addition to approximately $12,000 per year in estimated utilities bills. The Adair County Little League will continue operations, and the city will have the right to develop some land in the park. The agreement specifies that the park will continue to be "The Joe Johnson Little League Park." All members of the Council favored proceeding with the negotiations, but two members, Pam Hoots and Linda Waggener, did not vote last night, both asking that more time be allowed to sort out the details, a clearer policy be formulated, and that the relationship between the newly acquired park and the Columbia/Adair Parks and Recreation be clarified, but failed to sway four members, Craig Dean, Craig Lasley, Mark D.
