Symbolic reminders of Joe Moore are everywhere

The crest on City Hall is just one of the ubiquitous reminders of the late Joe Moore. The idea to put on the building came from former Mayor Pat Bell, who worked with Mary Allender of the Columbia/Adair County Chamber to adapt the stylized drawing of the Historic Adair County Courthouse for the symbol above. Mrs. Allender, turned to graphic artist Joyce Coomer of Printing Creations, who took the idea and created the logo above. Joyce Coomer says the Joe Moore design was modified, above, for screen printing, and says she doesn't know who created the finished sign, above. Joe Moore died Thursday, March 30, 2017.
