Wings Express students make candy cane ornaments 2016-12-25 - Campbellsville Elementary School, 315 Roberts Road (campus), Campbellsville, KY . Campbellsville Elementary School first-grader Brendan Martin counts how many beads he used to make his ornament.Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently made candy cane ornaments. Students used pipe cleaners to form the shape of a candy cane, and then added red and white beads in a pattern. After their pipe cleaner was full of beads, students tied it so their ornament can be hung on a Christmas tree. The Wings Express program will begin again on Thursday, January 5. Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition. Wings Express students stay at school from 3pm to 5pmET on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 1pm to 3pmET on Fridays for activities. Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs. About 90 students will participate in the Wings Express program.
