Campbellsville HS students tour Speed Art Museum

2016-12-23 - Speed Museum, Louisville, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS).

Campbellsville High School Art Honor Society members recently toured the Speed Art Museum in Louisville. Attending the trip were, from left seniors Tiffany Stagner and Kyrsten Hill, sophomore Zoe McAninch, freshman Fatimah Alabusalim, sophomores Leslie McKenzie, Chloe Decker, Jessie Bennett and Christina Phipps and junior Jay Cox. Students saw a variety of art, from paintings to sculptures and more. After touring the museum, students participated in hands-on activities in the museum's basement, and observed and listened to artist Gaela Erwin as she discussed how she creates her pastel drawings. Erwin's work was a featured exhibit at the museum. Students also saw an exhibit that detailed the history of sneakers. CHS art teacher Jo Ann sponsors the art honor society. - Calen McKinney
