New sign going up at Col Casey Drive & 'Interstate'

2016-11-06 - Col. Wm. Casey Drive & Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c).
The third monument style entrance signs is being erected at the entrance to the Adair County School campus. This one is at the Col. Casey Drive and Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass, with the Adair County Transportation Complex in the background. The photo was taken on Friday evening, when both the Adair County Primary Center's Fall Festival was in session and just prior to the Amazing Adair County Football teams victory in the first round of the KHSAA Football playoffs, and the campus was the center of the known universe, with maybe a record crowd on campus. Perfect traffic control was maintained. While driving across the campus, to get crowd shots, we were stopped at the checkpoint in front of Adair County High School, were told that, no, we could not exit by way of Booster Drive or return to Greensburg Street, that we should take a left on Col. Casey, and go to "out on the Interstate there." That's how we discovered this progress. And, by the way, it's the fifth similar sign in Adair County; the original ones are on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College, where there are two: One at Lindsey Wilson Street & Fairground Street; t'other at Young Street & Williams Street. - ED & LINDA WAGGENER.
