Found this last night after reading a note on CM mentioning Beanpole. - Mike Watson. Thanks, Mike Watson. This reminds us of your review of "The Best of Beanspole" in your article,Mike Watson. Adair County Authors III. It also reminds us that Col. 'Pole was called a great Adair Countian by another Great Adair Countian, Ol' Dave Rosenbaum, whose humor seems actually more inspired by Mark Twain than Beanpole; nonetheless, he framed a Col. It was taken on the occasion of one of Col. Beanpole's many visits to Waggener-Walker Newspapers, Inc., while his book was in the process of being published/printed there. Ralph or I may have taken it, Gordon Crump may have, and, depending on the year, it may have been Pete Walker. I suspect the latter. Pete was a master photographer. He could take better portraits with his company furnished Polaroid Swinger than Yousuf Karsh - well, anybody until the advent of master portrait photographer Shamarie Harper - and tell tale evidence, the unique way Pete pulled the picture from the Polaroid picture pack, makes me think it was Mr. Walker's Work. - Ed Waggener Permalink | Comments?
