Kentucky's 56th Gov. Martha Layne Collins' administration approved the dock road improvement, causeway, hotel complex in the mid-1980s which allowed for this popular Russell County development. Since that time, the Jamestown Marina and Resort growth has been constant. In addition to Russell, the lake also touches the Kentucky counties of Clinton, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski and Wayne with a 1,255 mile shoreline. A Saturday visit led me to wonder if Pastors Rick Mann and Dr. Jeff Eaton are still holding the lake church Labor Day reunion services as they were in a 2010 visit.
