Miss Vicky led the advocacy which made the $1 million lighting project a reality. She is keeping an eye on the Pinewood Shopping Center, invoking Adair County's common law "Do Right" principle, but only when necessary. She's keeping an eye on all the developments in the neighborhood, including the probability of new medical facilities, new employment opportunities in the neighborhood, and for new retail choices which will eliminate costly hauling cost, which, by law until March 5, 2016, had necessitated frequent and costly, high-dollar trips in her Toyota Fit to purchase supplies which, in her father's day, were delivered in a Lincoln Town Car, out of Marion County. She has not yet expressed proper enthusiasm for the likelihood of a Japanese restaurant, an Appleby's or even a Cracker Barrel. She's adamantly opposed to a truck stop in the neighborhood with what she thinks would be consequentially, increased drug sales and even flesh peddling, and she's fighting panhandling. But she watches each improvement. New fine dining opportunities at the latest opening, Hardee's of Columbia. And can't wait for the new Sleep Inn hotel to open, built largely, we suspect, to give fly-in Angus buyers the opportunity to shop till they drop in Angus Central, Greater Biiss/New Columbia Angus capital of the Commonwealth. Now she is lobbying for the City of Columbia to create a Great White Way from the Public Square to the Louie B. Nunn, with Street lights all along the two mile stretch. - Ew Permalink | Comments?
