Weather watchers check this Snowball Viburnum

One observer has monitored this weather herald for many decades and it has never failed him. He says that there will be no more cold snaps when the blossoms leave this snowball Viburnum beside City Hall. The observer is, at his insistence, anonymous. But Kentucky Color author Billy Joe Fudge, who calls the snowball viburnum blossom the perfect flower, also follows the signs the Snowball Bush and gives assurances that the last cold snap has been visited on us, and he gave us the term, "the snowball which never melts."
