Heading to world finals after today's win at WKU

2016-04-02 - Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY - Photo Amy Waggener.

This Shelby County, KY West Middle School team won first place in the April 2, 2016 Odyssey state competition at Western Kentucky University. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving experiences and opportunities for students. Teams in both first and second place today advance to World Finals at Iowa State University in May. Seventh grader Evan Waggener, at right, said "it felt great" seeing months of work on their long-term skit come together. Evan is the son of Pen and Amy Waggener and grandson of Ed and Linda Waggener of Columbia. He is shown with his Odyssey team members from left: Renee Fielding, Olivia Call, Clay Hardigree, Miranda Baltzell, Kerigan Poole and Evan. Jack Baralt was also in the skit but absent at the time photo was made.
