PAC's attorney, Derek Helm, Jamestown, KY, left, and Russell County Judge Gary Robertson, center, made a trip to Columbia last night to congratulate Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephens, on the landmark victory in the Local Option Election. At the time, the official count was continuing, but PAC headquarters' runners called in enough reports from precincts that the outcome was already assured. Shannon Sexton of PAC had assured Judge Stephens that the margin would be a comfortable 500, More or Less with only a couple of precincts left to report. In the end, the margin was over 600. Both CJE Stephens and Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick endorsed the Yes vote. CJE Robertson said that Russell County has high interest in persons wanting to get one of the counties allocation of seven package stores. According to Judge Robertson, it is his understanding that package stores are allocated on a 1 for every 2,300 residents. - EW Permalink | Comments?
