For many of us, Christmas in Columbia really starts with the hanging of the greens on the Square in Downtown Columbia. This is the sixth year in a row that the decorations have been installed by Lindsey Wilson, Mr. Neal said. Usually, the decorations go up on a Monday or Tuesday of Christmas in Columbia, this year December 5-6, 2015. Ellen Zornes, Vice President of the Columbia/Adair Chamber of Commerce and President of Adair Heritage Association (A-ha) said earlier this week to expect a burst of postcards for the Postcard Village, a first time C/AC Chamber/A-ha promotion -There are two postcards on the lawn beside the Dakota Meyer monument, and when last we talked with her, 12 more had registered. There's still time to be a part of the Postcard Village. Register with Lee Ann Jessee at the Adair Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, phone 270-384-2472. And, by the way, Taft Neal said that Randy Smith designed the Santa's Hat for the LWC postcard, which was done in the Sign Shop at Lindsey Wilson. - EW - PS: The whole decoration transformation operation, start to finish, takes about 3.5-4 hours, Mr. Neal said.
