I can't remember who told us to go to Mammy's Kitchen, but it was a cool idea. It's just an hour and 20 minutes from Columbia, somewhat less from our the main part of the family in Shelbyville. And easy meet up to for one meal during the Thanksgiving season. The food is good. It's a fun place. And for sure, even if you only buy appetizers you'll leave full. Mema II, and Great Mema, above were the first to arrive at the restaurant. Walking a half a block from the nearest available on street parking was an experience. It's not fully legible above, but the National Flag of Bardstown could very well be the red-and-white signs which abounded near the building warning: "THIS IS NOT MAMMY'S PARKING. YOU WILL BE TOWED." They were everywhere. But we learned later that there is plenty of Mammy's parking nearby, if you're familiar with Bardstown. We had a 25 minute wait for a table of eight. Had a long time to study the menu. But Evan had already memorized when Pen, Amy, Graham, Ev and Hailey arrived. So we knew what to order. - EW Permalink | Comments?
