Great trees of Adair County: Elbow tree on Cane Valley Mill Road

For many years now, perhaps with two-three dozen passings or more we've watched for the "Elbow" or "Biceps" tree we call it, but had thought it was gone. Today, Linda had a Eureka moment when she spotted it. Over the years, it seems to have gotten bigger in it's horrizontal trunk, and is now lower to the ground. When we first saw it three or four decades ago, it seems, in memory, that the horizontal length was several feet above ground. Now, there must be only inches. It was a wonderful reunion - not being fully Druid, we didn't talk to the tree, but if we had, we might have said, "It's so wonderful to see you again." - EW
