Junior Stotts relayed this photo from the Elk Hunt now underway in Knott County, KY. "Barry, my son, texted this photo to me of this elk. He said that it's been a great day for hunters. He said that one 67 year old woman had taken an elk, and that another hunter killed on with a bow and arrow." He added, "Barry said that today has been one of the most enjoyable of his life. He said that he will get the name of the hunter in the photo above shortly.(Update: David Giles; and this one may be the first elk killed in Kentucky weighing over 400 lbs. - Kentucky has some giant elk!) " Barry Stotts is district commissioner for the F&W 4th District which includes fifteen counties of Adair, Barren, Cumberland, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, Larue, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Nelson, Taylor, Washington Counties. He and two other District Commissioners are observing the hunt. - EW
