A time to remember, appreciate. A time to rethink access

2015-08-18 - Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
It seems like yesterday that the community gathered to unveil and dedicate the memorial to Col. Frank Wolford, but we are now actually approaching the 10th Anniversary of the event in October 22, 2005. The plaque above at the monument is a remember those whose generosity made it possible. Accessibility to the monument is not easy, but it's worth the climb, or the descent, to visit it. Somehow, though one wonders if now - with the focus of the community on the beautification of the Campbellsville Street/Fairground Street intersection - would not be a good time to study possibilities for a walkways to the monument, maybe some landscaping, even benches for rests and mini picnics, if just for the benefit of scholarship. - EW Related: Memorial sculpture of the US 1st KY Cavalry unveiled Saturday to large crowd.
