Gage on KY 61 Russell Creek Bridge

2013-08-11 - Milltown, KY - Photo Chart by Stantec.
Ermal Caudill of Stantec Engineering presented this chart in the hearings on the Russell Creek bank project at the Columbia/Adair County Utilities District (CAUD) Waste Water Plant. These readings are from the gage on the bridge over Russell Creek, several miles downstream from Columbia, but which, he said, provided the best historical data available. The chart shows a 100 year flood in 1982 and a 50 year flood in 2010. However, from memory of the two floods, to life long residents said that the flood of 2010 had higher waters than the 1982 one. The chart was part of a Powerpoint presentation by Mr. Caudill on Thursday night, August 8, 2013. After the hearing, the CAUD board voted to proceed with a remediation project.
