Buttonbush flowers blooming on GRL banks

Buttonbush flowers are blooming beside Green River Lake. Starting in the early fall, these flowers transition to reddish brown and resemble balls or buttons. These fruits provide food for wildlife, especially water birds such as wood ducks, over the winter. It is a moth host plant, great choice for a rain garden or erosion control, and needs space to grow tall and wide.

Edwards, Coffey and Hadley jailed to raise funds

These Adair County officials - PVA Landon Edwards, at left, Magistrate Billy Coffey, center, and Magistrate Terry Hadley - were in jail at Wal-Mart to raise money for Norton Children's Hospital. They were released but will be available to receive and get donations to the right place at any time to help children.
