If you got home from the Farmer's Market on the Square with a sack full of ripe tomatoes, you could do worse than to slice them with some fresh mozarella cheese and basil, plus vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, for a classic Caprese salad.

Timmy Gripshover to play Tom in Perfect Wedding

Meet Timmy Gripshover, who plays Tom in Perfect Wedding. Timmy is a fifth year senior, English and Theatre double major, at Lindsey Wilson College. He has been a part of the theatre program since the fall of 2018 and has done many different jobs within the theatre program including, acting, light and sound, props, etc. Some of Timmy's favorite roles include Roland in Constellations and Sparger in Kennedy's Children. Timmy would like to thank Robert Brock and Jeremy Cloyd for giving him the many opportunities in this program that have helped him grow in his passion and love for theatre. Timmy hopes to one day work in the theatre industry focusing on directing and properties.

Perfect Wedding will run with 7pmCT/8pmET performances July 27-29, 2022, and a 2pmCT/3pmET, performance July 31, 2022. For ticket information, to purchase tickets, and to meet more of the cast, visit www.theatrefest.org.

Applause given for gift of Columbian Theater

Dr. Ben Arnold was applauded after he made his gift of the Columbian Theater official at Thursday's Adair County School Board meeting. Last November it was leased to the schools for one dollar toward the possibility of the schools ultimately becoming the beneficiary of the historic property at 126 Public Square. The gift was made official before the one year mark as progress has steadily continued.

Columbian Theater gift made official

Superintendent Pamela Stephens presented Dr. Ben Arnold with a special shirt showing the historic Columbian Theater sign, complete with the reflection of the courthouse, after he made his gift official. Doug Beard, at right, was credited with having the vision of possibilities for the school district becoming its leaders. He and Dr. Stephens began communications with Dr. Arnold last year.
