Fiscal Court contracts for wings to be removed 2022-08-09 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo from Columbia Magazine archives. Fiscal Court, in a busy meeting Monday night, took the first steps in restoring the historic Adair County Courthouse to its original state. The wings - pictured here being built in the 70s - will be removed. Lindsey Wilson College Chancellor John Begley once called the Courthouse "Adair County's brass rail," the main point welcoming people to our unique town. Adair County Cattlemens Association President Fred Thomas, at left, introduced Beth Cowan from the ACHS Future Farmers of America at the August 8th meeting. She requested donations from those in attendance toward Eastern Kentucky flood victims. There was a good donation from the crowd and the Cattlemens Association gave them a check for $500 representing the farm community.
