Splash Pad groundbreaking will be August 17

Russell Creek flowing again after clearing

James writes, "the old Russell Creek on Highway 55 north is flowing once again! Happy to see it as it used to be!" Clearing was started early this week of tree debris and trash that had clogged underneath the bridge. Only a little water had been flowing (as the photo of this same view showed) when this week's work began.

Snapping turtle: A closer look

Veronica writes, "This snapping turtle crawled up the driveway. For the safety of the children and pets he was scooped into a large bucket and dropped off near a good pond. We taught our children to be respectful of wildlife and recognize they are important but also can hurt you."
