Nasturtium flowers
2022-08-25 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold. Veronica writes, "These lovely flowers are not only pretty but edible. The whole plant has a 'bite' like that of pepper, with all parts being edible, stems, leaves, and flower! They also are a great living mulch flower you can plant around/near plants that you don't want weeds to crowd out. They will bring pollinators and add a lovely punch of color. The only issue I have heard about them is that if they have too much nitrogen they will not flower but only get leafy and stay green.
I planted these seeds into a hanging basket that the seasonal flowers had already wilted. Great way to reuse an old basket you got for spring flowers. :)"
