Ribbon Cutting for Metcalfe Historical Museum
 2022-08-30 - Edmonton, KY - Photo from Kim Harwood. After many hours of volunteer work, the Metcalfe County Historic Court House Museum is open to the public! A large crowd attended a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony conducted by The Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
The Museum located in the center of the Edmonton Public Square will be open for tours on Thursday and Saturdays from 11amCT until 3pmCT. One must use the back entry to the Court House to enter. Shown are some of the members of the Metcalfe County Historical Society.

Birds of Kentucky: Great Egret
 2022-08-30 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. Great egrets are year round residents of southeastern coastal areas, but generally only pass through Kentucky. This great egret stopped at a small Kentucky lake for an afternoon of fishing.
According to All About Birds, "The Great Egret is the symbol of the National Audubon Society, one of the oldest environmental organizations in North America. Audubon was founded to protect birds from being killed for their feathers."
