Travel: Nearing the summit at Moro Rock

2022-09-04 - Sequoia National Park, CA - Photo By Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking.
Robert writes, "Moro Rock, is nestled within Sequoia Park. It is a very popular hike; by merely catching one of the Parks shuttle busses you can be dropped off at the starting point of the climb. It's a relatively short 1/2 mile hike to the top and back...but with over 350 steps, and blend in a little mix of fear of heights (if you have that fear) this makes for a really fun hike. When you reach the summit, your at a elevation of 6,725 feet, with awesome views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range."

The Schnitzel Wiener Art, from HofbrÀuhaus Newport, is a classic breaded pork cutlet fried crisp and golden brown, served with German potato salad, fried cabbage and cranberry sauce. Patrons eat on long community benches, and when the Reds are playing across the river, there's often a live Polka band to accompany the food.
