Congratulations to Harper Grider: 2022 Miss KY Celebration

Congratulations to Harper Grider on being named the 2022 "Miss Kentucky Celebration!" The Kentucky Walking Horse Association Ladies Auxiliary bestowed the honor at a ceremony on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Harrodsburg.

Sixteen-year-old Harper is a junion at Adair County High School. She is pictured with her parents, Brent and Courtney Grider, 1-year-old twins Collins and Logan Grider, and 8-year-old Cohen Grider.

Ringing the Bell to start the 2022-23 Academic Year

LWC President William T. Luckey Jr., rings the victory bell on the campus quadrangle signifying the start of the 2022-23 academic year. LWC announced record enrollment, surpassing 3,000 total students for the first time in College history. A record first-year student retention rate and a 64% increase in graduate student enrollment can be attributed to the historical growth.

LWC Class of 2026 tops 3,000 students

LWC Class of 2026 gathers on the campus quadrangle for a photo to commemorate their first move-in day at LWC. The incoming freshman class is part of the largest-ever student body in the history of the 119-year-old liberal arts college. A record 3,097 students enrolled for fall 2022. This number is a 19% increase over the previous fall and exceeds LWC's prior enrollment record of more than 2,700 students set in 2020.

Incoming freshman Sadie Kemp from Columbia puts the final touches on her new room in Phillips Hall during Opening Weekend on the A.P. White Campus in August. Kemp is a Bonner Scholar and plans to study elementary education. LWC total student enrollment surpassed 3,000 students for the first time in College history.
