LWC Baseball Team volunteers at Adair Co. Recycling Center

Some of the members of the LWC baseball team spent Malvina Farkle Day at the Adair County Recycling Center. Led by LWC Instructor of Communication Laura Burwash, the group cleaned and prepared the company for reopening. Lindsey Wilson College dismisses classes for the day each year while students spend the morning working on community service projects and playing games in the afternoon.

LWC Archery Team volunteers at Green River Lake

Members of the LWC archery program finish their work at Green River Lake, cleaning and picking up trash. The group was led by LWC archery head coach Mark Elam during Malvina Farkle Day, on Wednesday. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, LWC's annual day of service was either canceled or held with restrictions for the last two years. Students eagerly took part in the more than 30 service sites offered for placement.

LWC women's soccer program on Malvina Farkle Day

The LWC women's soccer program makes its way down Lindsey Wilson Street toward Highway 55 to pick up garbage around the Columbia Square and Jamestown Street for Adair County PRIDE. More than 800 LWC students, faculty and staff participated in the campus-wide day of service known as Malvina Farkle Day on Wednesday.

Bowling Team helps out on Malvina Farkle Day

Husband and wife project leaders, LWC bowling head coach Johnathon Meece and LWC freshman advisor Carlyn Causey-Meece paused for a photo before heading to the Jim Blair Center on Wednesday. The LWC bowling team also used Malvina Farkle Day to help a local private resident with yard work.

LWC students volunteer at Genealogy and History Research Center

Adair County Genealogy and History Research Center Director Mike Watson receives help moving bulky items from LWC freshman Sho Ito from Funabashi, Japan, and junior international student ambassador Autumn Gregory from Monticello, Kentucky, during Malvina Farkle Day. There were more than three dozen service sites available for LWC students on Wednesday.
