RIDES: First EV charging station in Columbia
2022-10-06 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Columbia's first public charging station for electric vehicles is a level 2 charger available at Don Franklin Ford during regular business hours and can be accessed off hours with permission from the owners.
The Charger is a J1772 style charger which is compatible with most electric vehicles. Tesla owners will have to provide their own adapter to use the charger. Aside from Tesla vehicles, the J1772 is compatible with most electric vehicles currently in production.

The Franklins just ask that you check in by phone or in person prior to hooking up.

Travel: Hiking in Paint Mines Interpretive Park
2022-10-06 - Calhan, CO - Photo by Graham Waggener. The Paint Mines are named for their colorful clays that were collected by American Indians to make paint. Brightly colored bands, caused by oxidized iron compounds, are found in varying amounts throughout the many different layers of clay.
The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is located in the northeast section of El Paso County, Colorado, with approximately 750 acres. The paint mines have evidence of human life as far back as 9,000 years ago. (elpasoco.com)
