Homegrown Lemon in Cumberland County

Marcus writes, "Rodney Jessup, who owns and runs Jessup Florist, grew this rather large lemon on his lemon tree in Burkesville. Amazing but true. He definitely has a green thumb. A quarter used in comparison. It's huge!"

Kentucky Color: Sour Gum

Billy Joe writes, "Black Gum is its most popular common name, but in the Great Wooded South it was always known as Sour Gum. This one is standing right in the heart of the Great Wooded South at about 1090 feet above sea level. For some reference, the Adair County Courthouse is setting at 750 feet above sea level. Historically speaking, it is said that our pioneer forefathers called it the most beautiful tree in the woods. For the record, I concur!"

Downtown Days 2022: Most popular daytime spot
