Travel: Fall colors frame the Capitol Dome, 1 of 2

2022-11-10 - Washington, DC - Photo courtesy Larry J. Smith.
Alan Reed, Jim Jackson and Larry Smith have been traveling on the East Coast, touring Washington, DC, and New York City. Larry is seen here in front of the Capitol Dome. He writes, "Fall colors are still very nice in Washington DC."

According to the Architect of the Capitol website, "The United States Capitol Dome may well be the most famous man-made landmark in America. It is such a fitting finale for the building it crowns, so familiar and dignified, that it seems surprising that its design and construction came late in the U.S. Capitol's architectural evolution."

Scenic Adair Co.: Harold Mouser's barn on Hwy 206

2008-03-01 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Pen.
Note: Thanks to Billy Joe, Mike, and Mary for the responses identifying this location. A photo from a drive around Adair County with the late Ed Waggener back in 2008. I *think* this is Hwy 206 winding through the photo, but can't figure out which of dad's famous "shortcuts" got us to this perspective. If you recognize the scene, please use our Contact Form and let us know.

Note: While checking to see if we'd published this photo before, I did discover that searching for red barns in the CM archives brings up links to a bunch of great rural scenes by a lot of great Adair Co. photographers. --Pen
