LWC Veterans Luncheon: Henningsen receives handmade quilt

Army veteran Richard Henningsen from Chicago, Illinois, left, receives help from LWC Dean of Students Chris Schmidt after his name is drawn for a handmade quilt from the Joyful Hearts Quilt Guild.

The quilting guild gave away more than a dozen quilts to the veterans on Friday at LWC's Veterans Appreciation Luncheon.

LWC Veterans Luncheon: Modern Woodmen present matching gift to VFW Post 6097

Adair County VFW Post 6097 Commander Ronnie Holt, right, receives a $2,500 matching gift from U.S. Army Corporal and Modern Woodmen of American Managing Partner John Cauley at LWC's 20th-annual Veteran's Appreciation Luncheon on Friday. Combined with the money raised from a previous raffle, more than $6,000 was raised for the Adair County Post.

LWC Veterans Luncheon: Eddie Burton wins handmade quilt

U.S. Army National Guard veteran Eddie Burton receives a handmade quilt after his name is drawn by Cathy Jones of the Joyful Heart Quilt Guild. More than a dozen quilts were given away at the LWC Veterans Appreciation Luncheon on Friday. The members of the quilting guild sew quilts in their spare time for veterans.
