Ponds frozen in white Christmas

While the entire surface is frozen, safety recommends staying off the ice until 4 inches of thickness is achieved. Will we reach it before we warm back up? Who knows. --The Arnolds of Fairplay

We are pleased to announce Maggie Wells has accepted the job of Staff Assistant at the Adair Extension Office. Maggie's first day is scheduled for January 3rd, 2023.
We are excited for you all to meet and get to know her. Teresa will be assisting in Maggie's training and transition. Maggie graduated in 2021 from Somerset Community College with an Associates in Applied Science for Business Management and Administration.

JIM writes, "For those fortunate enough in late 1935 to have a bit of jingle-jangle in their pockets, Eubank's IGA Cash Store offered a bounty of delectable edibles. This ad appeared in the December 24 edition of the Adair County News, published a day early that week."

Emergency Management Dirctor Mike Keltner sends word from this morning's NWS briefing that temperatures are expected to gradually warm going into next week, although they will not warm above freezing until Tuesday for most of the state.
