New stage taking shape in Columbian Theater

Trent Booher, Weldon Herron and Gary Daugherty are working in January to construct an expanded stage for the historic theater. The large design will accommodate programs from a wide variety of disciplines from the performing arts.

Doug writes, "The monitor at the entrance to the Columbian Theater is featuring historical images related to our city and county. You are encouraged to stop by and view these when you are on the square. They will bring back special memories for many folks. Renovations on the theater are progressing well and we all look forward to a grand opening!"

New business leaders move to Adair County

Anne and Alan Bird, talents in the areas of the arts and tech, have moved their two businesses to Adair County in the former Henrietta and Jeff Scott galleries in Sparksville. They are welcomed at the January meeting of the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce. Anne will be installed as president of the Adair County Arts Council Thursday at 6pmCT at the Begley Art Gallery at Lindsey Wilson College.
