Richard Phelps gave a rousing program on the history of the long rifle and its impact on the settlement of Kentucky and Adair County at the April meeting of the Adair County Genealogical Society. He exhibited various rifles ranging over several decades and from various makers, all of note in the realm of firearms manufacture.
