Cast members of The Stephen Foster Story visit Frankfort

Senator Jimmy Higdon invited cast members of The Stephen Foster Story to the Kentucky State Capitol on Tuesday, February 28 to sing "My Old Kentucky Home." The Stephen Foster Story musical drama has been delighting audiences at the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre since 1959. The show is set in the mid-19th century and follows America's first great composer, Stephen Collins Foster, as he paves the road for future songwriters through love, heartache and the struggles of the time. Performances begin in June and additional information may be found at www.stephenfoster.com.

According to the All About Birds entry for the Boat-tailed Grackle, "Along the western Gulf Coast, Boat-tailed Grackles have dull, brownish eyes. Along the Atlantic Coast and the Gulf Coast west to Mississippi, Boat-tailed Grackles have bright yellow eyes."

Historic Courthouse damaged by high winds

As high winds continued in Adair County Friday afternoon first responders were called to the center of town to work on the Courthouse. Emergency Management is calling for folks to send details of property damage.
