Weather.gov recommendations for storm preparedness. On the day before a system moves through, adjust plans, check your storm shelter, and make sure your phone can receive Weather Emergency Alerts. You can also sign up for text messages from CodeRed using this special link for Adair County Emergency Alerts: public.coderedweb.com.

Lanterns & Tombstones returns this Friday

The Second Season of Columbia City Cemetery Walking Tour will take place starting at 7pmCT this Friday night, April 7, 2023, in conjunction with Columbia's "To-the-Nines" downtown event. The Tour will take place each month throughout the year--April through September, culminating with the annual Silent City Tour of 2023. Each month the Tour and narration will be different from the previous months.

A recycling effort underway

My washing machine may not recognize its detergent today. In an effort to reduce the amount of plastic used,  I’m trying laundry sheets. They replace the bottles of liquid with a liquid-less sheet that washes itself away as it cleans the laundry. Hopefully, it works as promised, and I will happily do without big plastic jugs of laundry detergent from now on. We’ll see how the test goes. - LW
