An online auction is currently being held for the family of the late Alfred Schubert. They have owned the house at 145 Morrison Road since 1995. This unique property is conveniently located just outside of Columbia, KY, just off Hwy 55 South, and adjoins the Columbia Veterans Memorial Roadside Park.

"Mrs. Schubert now lives with her children in Illinois. Mr. Schubert was one of Columbia's first home inspectors, so I imagine he kept everything in pretty good shape", explains Auctioneer Chris Wilson.

Bidding on the property ends at approximately 6pmCT on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, and an open house will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 10amCT to NoonCT. Wilson urges potential bidders not to wait until the last minute and miss out. More information on the house along with all the personal property, furniture and antiques being sold can be found at www.GoldenRuleAuction.com. Unexpected Raccoon

2023-06-16 - Central Kentucky - Photo by Pen.
I was watching a Great Blue Heron, who looked poised to strike at a dinner-time fish, when I saw this raccoon amble out of the cattails in the background to wash his paws.

At first, I thought a daytime raccoon might be a sick raccoon. However, he did seem to be moving with a "leisurely, but determined pace," which isn't a red flag according to the Kitchener/Waterloo Humane Society--whom Google deems a top source on daytime sightings of raccoons.

Kamryn Moon, 12, wore a good philosophy message this week at the Blair Park. Her grandma said it fits her nature. It reads, “I never argue - I just explain why I’m right.”
