Hooligan Burger's sign is up at new center

Progress continuing in New Columbia - The new building in front of The Appliance Store has the parking lot pavement going on this week. Hooligan Burger's sign is up on the front of the fourth spot. They will be closing on Jamestown Street and moving there when it’s done. Little Cesar’s will be coming into the first spot in the center, at left.

Ellie Cheatham brings donations to GRAS

2022 Rogers Scholar and Adair County High School student Ellie Cheatham loves animals. That's why Ellie decided to organize a community fundraiser for the Green River Animal Shelter.

"This project meant the world to me because I have always loved animals," she said. "Knowing I was able to help the shelter when they needed it most, gave me so much joy. It's not often they get large donations, and I'm glad I was able to be a part of this project."

Graduates of The Center for Rural Development's Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project. For more information about Rogers Scholars, visit www.centeryouthprograms.com.
