Holmes Bend Boat Dock and Marina sponsored the August Chamber of Commerce luncheon from their floating cafe at the Dock. Owner Kelly Caldwell welcomed everyone and shared the story of their growth over the past 30+ years. The Caldwells support Columbia and Adair County businesses by always sending their guests here. She and her husband Joey, their son Tanner, and staff made sure everyone got plenty to eat and drink at the meeting.

Birds of Kentucky: Little Blue Heron
 2023-08-13 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. A juvenile Little Blue Heron had a very successful afternoon at Lake Shelby this past week. He caught a bluegill just minutes before grabbing this frog. Another juvenile joined him the next day. Juveniles are all white except for dark wingtips, and don't get their distinctive blue and purple coloring until they reach adulthood.
