Drivers may share ways to avoid downtown Columbia
2023-09-07 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Signs on north and south 55 say to use the Veterans Memorial Bypass, not go through town. When I see a truck go around the Square, I wonder what alternatives there are if a driver is coming from East 80, or Greensburg Road. Hopefully local drivers who know all the streets will take time to share their shortcuts.

Broadband listening tour part of research

Community colleges are a good place for information.

Charging table is in front of LWC Wellness Center
2023-09-06 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. The free charging table was out for the summer getting maintenance and cleaning. It was designed and built by Evan Mahanna (class of 2022) who hopes everyone will "enjoy spending time outside at this table and charge your phone while you're at it." He graduated from Lindsey with a degree in sustainability and energy applications and is now a grad assistant at LWC teaching in the environmental studies program and archery. The charge table was created in a directed study course, environmental studies, with a goal to make a display of solar energy on campus.
