The Adair County High School Cadet Corp performed honors for the flag at the Bank of Columbia's celebration of their remodeled Jamestown Street branch. Bank President and CEO Mark Dykes presented the group with a donation for their programs.

Last two Farmers Market Saturdays

Today, Saturday, October 21, 2023, is one of only two more Farmers Markets on the Square opportunities to stock up on fall veggies and crafts. Then that will be it for the 2023 season. Darrel Andrew's booth on the Campbellsville Street side of the Market is always a spot where you find good eats and plenty of good conversation.

Maybe a shaggy mane mushroom

Saw this interesting mushroom on a walk in the park. Image searches suggest it might be a shaggy mane mushroom. Those are edible, but there are a few poisonous lookalikes.

Caleb sets the pace

Caleb Johnson has the reputation of being the fastest and most efficient packer of boxes at Columbia Baptist Church. Caleb said this particular box was the 16th box he had already packed that evening. National Collection Week for OCC is November 13-20. Boxes in Adair County can be dropped off at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene.
