Carol Perkins and Anna Jolly have been very busy the past several days collecting items and packing Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts. National Collection Dates for OCC are November 13-20, 2023. The Green River Area Team-- which consists of Adair, Casey, Green, Hart, Metcalfe and Taylor Counties--hopes to collect 17,000 shoe box gifts between the six counties.

Last stop on first history walk of Public Square

The "Shot - Stabbed - Hanged - and More" tour of the Columbia Public Square," was a huge success. Mike Watson and Dave Thomas thanked everyone who came out. Their people counters who try to determine the turnout at such events concluded that between 130 and 140 were in attendance.

Brothers-in-law James Curry and Lance Burton were two of about 140 folks who were curious about shootings, stabbings, hangings and more that are part of our history around the Public Square in Columbia. They braved the cold, wet evening for the first annual walk while Robyn stayed in.

Robert writes, "Sunset along this gorgeous strip of the Northern California coast. This would be our last overnight stay near the ocean. The next day of traveling would have us hugging scenic highway 101 for many miles, finally heading inland towards the airport in Sacramento."
