Campbell shares writing tips with Adair Arts Council

Darlene Campbell was the guest presenter at the October Adair County Arts Council meeting. She shared her new book, "What Have You Done Now Rosie Putt?" along with a number of helpful points to members who are writing for publication. ACAC Secretary and painter Karen Roland is at left. The Arts Council meets again Thursday in the lower level of the Training and Development Center, 201 Burkesville Street in Columbia. Everyone is welcome.

Adair County Election workers were standing by in the Courthouse Annex on Tuesday night, waiting for precinct workers to come rolling in with tallies. Their day started around 4amCT and didn't finish up until around 8pm.

Carney awarded posthumous doctorate from CU

Billy Joe writes, "I've often been told by many homeowners that Oak leaves are not pretty in the fall; that they go from green to brown. Well, those homeowners clearly never met up with a Scarlet oak like the one on the west side of Hwy 61 in the Flatwoods."

The Lindsey Wilson College community will hold its 21st Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at 11:30amCT on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the VFW Post 6097, 500 Greenhills Drive, Columbia, Kentucky. The luncheon is free and open to all area veterans and their spouses.
