Carrie Pendleton won quilt at LWC Veterans Luncheon

U.S. Air Force veteran Carrie Pendleton from Russell Springs, Kentucky, wins a handmade quilt provided by the Joyful Hearts Quilt Guild of Columbia at the 21st Annual LWC Veterans Appreciation Luncheon. Over the past year, twelve members of the quilting guild customized 20 quilts in patriotic themes for a drawing at the luncheon on Friday.

Getting ready for the Deer Hunters Breakfast

Mary Burton is up early this Saturday morning, making her famous sausage gravy for the Hood Lodge 839 Deer Hunters Breakfast. Tim Baker says, "Come and eat, we're ready for you. We'll be here till noon."

The donations only event raises money for the ACMS attendance project, an ACHS scholarship, and upkeep of the lodge.

Ribbon cutting ceremony opens celebrations

Brandy and Dan Held kicked off two days of celebrations to officially open their Laurel Ridge Farm Market and Crazy Calf Lady's Kitchen in Cane Valley Friday, November 10, 2023. Saturday will be a full day of food and activities including a petting zoo mid day. At Friday's Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, from left in front, were: Ellen Zornes, Executive Director of the Columbia Adair Chamber; Bruce, Dan and Brandy Held, Tina Cook Thomas, Lefawn Nettles and Olivia Burton.
