The old Gray Seal mural looking new again

Painters Matthew Reece and Danny Reeves of Columbia are restoring this old Gray Seal mural on the old Durham Grocery Building in downtown Columbia back to its original glory.

OCC 2023: Katerina Baxter

Katerina Baxter delivered her shoebox gift to the Wheet Fellowship Hall Monday evening. Although her church Charity Baptist Church delivers boxes she wanted to make her own special delivery this year. She said she is also going online to pay her postage so she can track the country that her box goes to.

Columbia's Field House featured in This Old House magazine


2023-11-13 . -- Columbia treasure, the 200+ year old John Field House, is featured in the winter issue of This Old House magazine, delivered in the mail today. The property for sale at 111 East Fortune Street offers residential, commercial, and home business opportunities. The article under the heading "Save This Old House" says, "Its grandeur and rich history make it deserving of a vibrant future that honors its past." Much of the research comes from Columbia Magazine archives and historian Mike Watson. Photos are by Linda Waggener.
