2013-01-14 - Tebbs Bend Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The old Tollhouse, a vestige of the days when the Barbee Stage Coach was the main public carrier for passengers from Columbia to Campbellsville, is undergoing renovation. Details aren't yet released, but are expected sometime this year. The toll station is just north of the historic steel bridge over Green River, below the Green River Dam. Epicurean Kentuckian: Cherry Popovers
2013-01-13 - EK Kitchen, Shelby Co., KY - Photo by Pen. The Cherry Popovers from the EK ovens merit a higher cherry filling to doughy pastry filling than most. One can eat them with patriotic, if not dietary pride: They are of American origin, according to the entry in Wikipedia, Popovers. However, Anglophiles will find vindication in knowing that the sweet treats are a splendid derivative of very English Yorkshire Pudding.
