Big Al visits Lynchburg, TN: From Vester to Wide World traveller
2013-01-20 - 197 Main Street, Lynchburg, TN - Photo by Innocent Bystander. Big Al Owens the CM Contributing Correspondent, the author of the Lynchburg, TN story, is pictured here in front of The Still Dry County General Store in the capitol of Moore County, TN. Owens is one of the most widely known of his profession. He's come a long way from his boyhood homes across the field from Bearwallow United Methodist Church in Adair County and Chicago, IL to his present home in Nashville, by way of a long tenure in Columbia, his former base of operations on Heskamp Street. Everywhere he goes, he meets the most interesting people, great places to eat, and unique American landmarks. Most of the time he finds similarities - some good, some bad - to things back home. As he did in Moore County, which is stuck in the same time warp as Adair County on local option laws.
