2013-02-19 - ACMS, 322 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo Adair School Staff. ACMS Lead Custodian Tony Durban and Assistant Principal Donna Owens - These two individuals are responsible for making Cumberland County students and faculty feel at home yesterday, February 18, 2013, after an emergency evacuation following a fire at a hardware store in close proximity to the school campus. Students were bused to the campus of Adair County Schools where they were welcomed by Assistant Principal Donna Owens and Tony Durbin, Lead Custodian. Mr. Alan Reed, Superintendent stopped by the school today February 19, 2013, to personally thank Ms. Owens and Mr. Durbin for the hospitality and kindness shown to the students during their hour and a half forced visit. "I received a note from Mr. Glen Murphy, Superintendent thanking Ms. Brenda Mann and Mr. David Jones for helping our neighboring school district out in a pinch," said Reed. "Ms. Mann and Mr. Jones in told me that it was the middle school employees who went the extra mile to make sure the students were well cared for. I'm glad we could help out and I thank Ms. Owens and Mr. Durbin." Lost dog finds way into hearts at LWC. They can't keep
2013-02-19 - Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY - Photo by Kacie. THIS DOG RAN INTO THE BUILDING AND WAS PANTING and had a limp. We brought her inside our office and gave her some water and she is taking a nap. I didn't see anyone around with her and I have never seen her roaming around. She is very lovable, had a collar but no tag. We are at the college so we can't keep her here overnight; unless one of us can take her home for the night. We weren't sure if we should just put her back outside or try and find her owner. KACIE at Lindsey Wilson College No other contact information.

2013-02-19 - Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Mema's Indoor Farm is underway, designed to furnish fresh handpicked herbs for cooking and the table. Right now, the cropping is up to one mint plant and two Parsleys with Cilantro the next to try. We're quite sure many others have been successfully trying this for a long time and hope they will share a few notes on their success or lack of it. We got tired of growing stuff for groundhogs and deer. - EW Full Disclosure note It may be obvious. A mirror is used.
