Downtown Columbia, KY: His fenestration work a part of history
2013-05-30 - 212 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Mark Rash, Campbellsville, KY is installing new sliding windows for Cafe on the Square, 212 Public Square, Columbia, in preparation for its reopening, expected one day next week. The new windows come from Green River Window & Door, 504 Liberty Road in Columbia. He's been a window installer for a long time. In the right frame, he points to a window he installed in the clocktower on the Historic Adair County Courthouse. Many will never have notice that the one facing Jamestown is different from the one facing Burkesville. He installed the window to replace an open one. While doing so, he remembers, he had to dispatch several pigeons who had assumed they could homestead there when they found the open window, and were none too happy with Rash's project. He also installed the most recent set of doors on the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square.
