Dedication of the Memorial to The Battle of Midway

2013-06-13 - Annapolis, MD - Photo by Philip Hanna.
Philip Hanna writes,
"I recently took a trip to Maryland and while in Annapolis, wandering the grounds of the Naval Academy, we came across a presentation and dedication of a memorial to the Battle of Midway. A former professor and author of The Battle of Midway spoke on key figures in the Battle of Midway and their role in its success, then the memorial was dedicated followed by a moment of silence and the band playing The Marine Hymn and Anchors Aweigh. It was a moving ceremony and experience."

Scenic Taylor Co., KY: Lemon's Bend, cliffs of Green River

2013-06-13 - Taylor Co., KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM radio. I'll be back for other photos: I spotted this view off Lemon's Bend Road, which I took after turning of KY 55 at the Ireland Community Center and was overwhelmed at the beauty of the river valley and the spectacular cliff formations. I hope anyone who has explored the area will let us know more about their experiences there. And I was wondering if anyone has ever scaled the formation in the foreground or taken a photo from there. It would appear to be an extremely dangerous undertaking. - Larry Smith
